BREAD & BUTTER LOCO (ELONGATED)

Goal: Elongated paddles are naturally more powerful and more head-heavy than other shapes, so weight placement matters if you want results without making the paddle feel too top-heavy. They also tend to have a smaller horizontal sweet spot out of the box. The goal of this setup is to meaningfully expand the sweet spot while staying mindful of overall weight and maneuverability.

WEIGHT SETUP

What you'll need:

  • 0.5g per inch Tuning Tape roll
  • 9g Cap Coin
  • Overgrip

Placement:

Add 1 gram (2 inches of tape) to the top of each side and 2.5 grams (5 inches of tape) along the bottom throat area on both sides.

Why this placement?

Weight was placed directly on the sides to maximize sweet spot gains, with half-gram tape spreading the effect across the face. A 9-gram butt cap coin then brings the balance point down to offset the maneuverability lost from the added side weight.

Fine tuning:

If you like the sweet spot increase but it feels too heavy then try a 12g Cap Coin in the butt cap instead of a 9g.
