What you'll need:

• 2g Tungsten Strips
• Overgrip

Placement:

Add one 2-gram strip directly in the middle of each side. Then place another 2-gram strip on each side starting just above the handle. Add overgrip.

Why this placement?

The weight placed in the middle of the sides improves stability across the entire face rather than concentrating it in one specific area. The swing weight on this paddle was already a little higher for a hybrid shape, so I kept the side weight lighter at just 2 grams per side.

The strips just above the throat are there to bring the balance point down slightly to offset the added head weight and bring the balance to a more neutral level. Normally I would use a Cap Coin for this, but JOOLA’s end cap design isn’t compatible with them, so this was the next best placement to achieve a similar effect.

Fine tuning:

If you’re feeling ambitious, try moving the weights from the throat area to the bottom half of the grip under your overgrip. This will counterbalance the head weight a little more and lower the balance point further for improved maneuverability on flicks.
